'Noah's Ark Juniper'
The classic conifer for a rocky or small garden. The photo shows the one growing in my parents-in-law's garden; it's at least 35 years old and yet is still only about 4 feet 6 inches high.
As a young plant, its leaves are loose and flexible but when it's planted in the ground and established, its growth slows down and forms a thick, neat dense bush. The leaves are hard and prickly with that familiar juniper scent.
Ideal for planting at the edge of a border and small enough even for tubs and troughs, the Noah's Ark Juniper is easy to grow and trouble-free, needing no pruning or trimming.
